As Senior Vice President and Operations Manager of Nautilus Housing, LLC and Nautilus Affordable Housing, LLC, Mr. Flores-Damian provides oversight of companies dedicated to excellence in affordable, mixed-finance, and work force housing. His leadership informs both our vision to be the most trusted, cost effective, and innovative housing provider in the nation and our mission to create high-quality and well-managed housing that enhances the lives of our residents and enriches communities. Our Mission is to preserve and steward affordable rental housing, and to provide stability, hope and economic security to low-and moderate-income seniors and families.
Mr. Flores-Damian has been in Real Estate Advisory and Investments since 2009. To date he has been involved in over 5,700 rental units and transactions valued in excess of $500,000,000.00.
Within Nautilus, Luis seeks to maintain a culture that embraces innovation, trust, financial stewardship, long-term responsible ownership, and entrepreneurial spirit. He has tapped experienced professionals from the private and public sectors to partner with and be team members. Luis is responsible for overseeing all of Nautilus’ daily operations, including acquisitions, database research, development, and design, information resources, marketing oversight, and personnel.
Working in the multifamily industry has created the opportunity to follow one of his passions, improving the well-being of others. With Nautilus Affordable Housing, Mr. Flores-Damian has been able to channel that passion and his values by focusing time and efforts on affordable housing. As the son of an educator, Luis often participated in projects dedicated to improving school facilities and community building.
Luis was born and raised in San Diego, CA. Received a Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton in Communication with specialization in Social Media. He is a Spanish/English Legal & Court trained Interpreter.
Derek joined Nautilus Affordable Housing in 2018 with five years of experience as a litigation and transactional attorney. He began his career litigating complex employment matters before transitioning to a role as a trusted advisor on corporate business transactions. He also has governmental relations expertise, having served as a Law Fellow in the office of Senator John Kerry while in law school.
Mr. Kennedy is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. He is also a member of the California Bar.
